Thrustmaster Compatibility Information

Using Thrustmaster T598 and T818 requires the newer style quick release (not the original screw on system you will find on the T300 series and similar).

This quick release contains electronics that let the wheelbase know that it is connected to a Thrustmaster wheel. Our wheels and adapters use this quick release and emulate the original F1 wheel from Thrustmaster

When used on consoles, the RSR emulates a Thrustmaster F1 wheel so that the T598 wheelbase can use the wheel with force feedback and its inputs enabled. The RSR has many more inputs than the Thrustmaster wheel but all inputs can be remapped within the RSR button module over Wifi.

This is the default setup but each input label is a pulldown menu where you can change the mapping. Please note that in some game and wheelbase combinations, certain buttons or encoders might have limited options as to what can be mapped due to the fewer native Thrustmaster input options.

We test our wheels and adapters on the vT598 and T818 when a new firmware from Thrustmaster is being released, to ensure that they stay compatible and that force feedback stays enabled.

However, recently the T818 firmware (7.39) has been updated by Thrustmaster which will disable force feedback for some wheels, even when using the correct quick release. To enable force feedback again, it is recommended to do the following steps:

First delete the "My Thrustmaster" Panel and FFB drivers using the uninstall programs. Then install the old drivers through the previous exe file and downgrade the wheelbase through the Thrustmaster Firmware Updater.

For the T598 our latest confirmed working version is 2.55:
