MVH Pitwall #05: Fanatec Obsidian, BeamNG on PS5

This week’s biggest stories came out of Frankfurt: a display-heavy Fanatec prototype, a new Asetek wheel and base, and a much longer warranty. Meanwhile, BeamNG.drive has finally arrived on PS5, complete with a useful list of officially supported wheels.

Fanatec’s 2027-bound prototype combines a 5-inch colour display, RevLEDs and illuminated rotary switches beneath one glass panel. It is being designed for SimHub and console use, with telemetry over USB or Wi-Fi—including UDP telemetry for supported console games.

Frankfurt also brought the first look at ClubSport Pedals V4, planned as Fanatec’s mid-range pedal set for 2027. The two-pedal Podium Pedals Sport launched on 16 October, while the full three-pedal Podium set is now expected toward the end of 2026.

Asetek GT Nova steering wheel

GT Nova, DD10—and a five-year warranty

Asetek’s 290 mm GT Nova is due in March 2027 with a 1.3-inch OLED, backlit controls and MultiLink: one selector can assign up to 12 functions for a second encoder to adjust. RaceHub Link will also put wheelbase, pedal and wheel settings directly on the display.

More immediate is the DD10, launching 27 October: a 10 Nm direct-drive base that can be upgraded to 14 Nm and is prepared for future Xbox-compatible Asetek wheels. The company also extended its racing-hardware warranty to five years for purchases made after 15 October 2026.

BeamNG.drive reaches PS5 with v0.40

A full 24 hours at Le Mans

Le Mans Ultimate is running two 24-hour special events with Hypercar, WEC LMP2 and LMGT3 machinery. The remaining start is Saturday 24 October at 14:30 BST, with 62-car splits, open setups and Safety Rating B2 required.

Studio 397 recommends testing large grids and day-night-weather transitions in single player first, particularly on lower-spec PCs, and has published a launch-option note for anyone taking part.

MVH RSR 4.0 CORE steering wheel

Why MVH? Order now for a pre-Christmas build

BeamNG’s PS5 list is a reminder of how many racers begin with Logitech. The RSR 4.0 CORE can be configured for supported Logitech systems now, then move to another supported wheelbase later by changing the mount or connection hardware instead of replacing the complete wheel.

Every 300 mm RSR is hand-built to order in the UK, with your choice of finish, grips, controls and display route. Demand is currently high and the build time is 2–3 weeks.

If you want your RSR built and dispatched before Christmas, order now. Orders placed during the first week of November will be the final orders we expect to complete in time. International delivery times vary, so ordering earlier is safer.

The RSR 4.0 CORE starts at £329 and is available to configure now.
